Greetings parents of third graders! Important dates to remember:
Tuesday, February 28 - Early Dismissal - students leave at 11:00.
Friday, March 2 - End of Trimester 2. No report card will be sent home, please check grades online.
Here is our upcoming week in a nutshell:
MATH
Our class is going to take an assessment on area, volume and perimeter on Tuesday, 2/28. The remaining days will be spent refreshing our memories on concepts which will be found on the ISATs.
READING
This week, we are going to touch on plot, theme, poetry and figurative language.
SPELLING
There will not be a formal spelling lesson. Instead, students will focus on suffixes this week. The prefix/suffix test is on Friday, 3/2.
ENGLISH
Students will be writing about the Chicago Fire from the point of view of Mrs. O'Leary's cow.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Chicago, test 2 will be on Thursday, 3/1. Study guides are going home Monday.
SCIENCE
Our focus is on Social Studies this week.
