Week of February 19, 2012

Hi parents and students! Please remember, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, 2/20 in observance of President's Day.

Our Valentine's Day party was a success!!! A huge thank you to the parents who made it special for our kids.

Here is our upcoming week in a nutshell:

MATH

Earlier in the week, I sent an email offering times to sign up for conferences. If you would like to sign up, you could do so by clicking the link below:

Our focus over the next several weeks is to review concepts we've explored throughout the year so students are refreshed for the ISAT test. These concepts will include geometry, elapsed time and writing responses.

READING

Our class will be discussing author's purpose, fiction/nonfiction, and text features.

SPELLING

We are bypassing an actual spelling lesson this week to focus on prefixes and suffixes. We will be ready to test on prefixes by Friday, 2/24.

ENGLISH

Our adjective/adverb test is on Thursday, 2/23. We will really be honing in on our writing skills as well.

SOCIAL STUDIES

There is a quiz on Chicago on Tuesday, 2/21.

Have a great week!
