Important News:
There is no school on Monday, October 12 in observance of Columbus Day.
On Friday, October 16, our class will have a pizza party to celebrate the 126 magazine sales we made, putting us in first place! That afternoon, we will also have the Mario Cart assembly with the top four classes.
Students need to bring their cleaned, dried and pressed leaves by Thursday, October 15 in order to do our leaf project on Friday.
Halloween Notes: The format has changed a bit from previous years. After the school-wide parade, our class will be decorating pumpkins, listening to a scary story and having a treat in our classroom. Students are encouraged to bring the supplies they will need to decorate their pumpkin.
Permission slips for Robert Crowne will be going home on Tuesday. There is also a parent night regarding the topic of discussion scheduled for Wednesday, October 28.
Here is the upcoming week in a nutshell:
Math
We will begin algebra on Wednesday but will continue to review multiplication and division. Please do not stop practicing your math facts!
Language Arts
The spelling pretest on lesson 7 (soft and hard g) will be on Tuesday. The final test is on Thursday.
In reading we will be writing our summary journals for Jacob's Rescue and continue choosing a word of the week to present on Friday.
We will be writing a lot in English to practice our comma use and using quotations.
Social Studies
Our discussion of the original 13 colonies will continue as we read about the Pilgrims.
Science
Our vocabulary game boards will be completed this week as we discuss photosynthesis and plant life.
