Math:

We are starting our unit on fractions. We will be discussing fractions on a number line, fractional parts of a set, comparing fractions, equivalent fractions, mixed numbers, improper fractions, adding and subtracting fractions, and finding a common denominator. 

*Today the students were given a worksheet (practice 11-7) that was optional for extra credit that will be due on Monday*

Social Studies:

Our Culture Day presentations all went very well. It was exciting learning about everyone's heritage. Our Lesson 4 open book quiz will be on Monday 2/23. This brings our unit to an end and our Chapter 3 test will be on Friday 2/27.

Science:

WE HAVE JUST COMPLETED OUR WORK ON CHAPTER 11 (MATTER). OUR NEXT UNIT WILL BE ABOUT HEAT, LIGHT, AND SOUND.

Language Arts:

WE WILL CONTINUE OUR TRADITIONS UNIT. THIS WEEK WE will continue our work with THROW YOUR TOOTH ON A ROOF. WE WILL ALSO CONTINUE OUR FOCUS ON VERBs.
