Here is our upcoming week in a nutshell:
MATH
We are having our marble party for good behavior on Monday. I have a special surprise planned for the class. There is a CYP (check your progress) scheduled for Tuesday, 10/23 on chapter 3, lessons 1-5. On Friday, there will be another CYP covering lessons 6-9. The chapter 3 test is scheduled for Tuesday, October 30.
READING
Students will continue predicting, inferring and identifying cause and effect this week. There is a Cliffhanger vocabulary test on Tuesday, 10/23 and a comprehension test on Thursday, 10/25.
SPELLING
Monday: List 9 (long i sound) pretest
Homework for all: cursive worksheet
Tuesday: Homework for non-challenge: ABC order in spelling journal
Homework for challenge: Activity 1 in spelling journal
Wednesday: Homework for non-challenge: WB volume 1: 152 and 153
Homework for challenge: Activity 2 in spelling journal
Friday: List 9 Posttest
ENGLISH
Students will continue writing their Haunted House story. This piece combines descriptive writing and persuasive writing.
SCIENCE
We will begin chapter 4 on ecosystems this week.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Our study of Downers Grove begins this week so we could build our schema for the upcoming field trip.
