Here are our upcoming plans in a nutshell:

Math
We are working through chapter 3 on subtraction strategies.  Our test will be on Tuesday 10/22.  Keep an eye out for the study guide.  Every night, suggest to your child to review the vocabulary we have covered thus far in chapters 1, 2 and 3.  In addition, they could also be working on pages in their workbook we have not completed.

Reading
Students will be using their good fit books to find a word they are not familiar with each week.  They are to study this word to make it a regular part of their vocabulary.  I will test them each Monday on the word they have chosen.
Our focus this week and next will be on inferring as we read The Ballad of Mulan.

English
Every night, Monday - Thursday, your child will be assigned DOL activity (daily oral language) to complete for homework.  I will send the entire sheet home on Mondays and will expect them to be returned on Fridays completed.  You will see a sample of what these look  like in your child's homework folder.
The unit 1 English test on The Sentence is on Wednesday, October 16.  Check to make sure your child brought their study guide home.
