Week of April 18, 2011

Thank you for stopping by to see our classroom and projects we have been working on during Open House. It was wonderful to see past and current students, as well as, meet some upcoming students. Reminder: There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 22. Also, there is an early dismissal on Thursday, April 21. Here is our upcoming week in a nutshell:

MATH

Students will be working at stations this week to review and refresh on the concepts we've covered this year. I also intend to spend some time working on multiplication and division facts. The division test for 2's is on Thursday, April 21.

READING

We are going to continue working on our poetry unit with our focus on the "I AM" poem. We will not have reading on Thursday of this week.

SPELLING

There is no spelling due to the shortened week.

ENGLISH

The class will be working with pronouns, but each at their own pace depending on the pretest they took.

SCIENCE

In preparation for Open House, science really was left on the back burner but now our attention focuses back to energy.

SOCIAL STUDIES

We will finish up our Chicago unit before moving on to our economy chapter.
