Here is our upcoming week in a nutshell:

MATH
This week, we will explore Fahrenheit temperature and then review for our chapter 20 test scheduled for Wednesday, 1/26. Then, we will continue learning about the metric units of measure in chapter 21. The x6 test is on Tuesday, 1/25.
READING
We will continue to work on our novels or basal stories as we practice the strategy of making connections.
SPELLING
This week we will focus on List 14: homophones. The homework will be sent home Monday and due Friday. The graded test will be on Friday.
ENGLISH
We will be writing with verbs, discussing the verb 'be', and exploring helping verbs. On Thursday, there will be a review covering these concepts.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Students have a graded open book review on Monday, 1/24 on lesson 3. On Thursday, 1/27, we will have the first part of Culture Day and Friday will complete this event. Students will know if they are presenting on Thursday or Friday on Monday. An explanation of this event is in your child's SS folder.
SCIENCE
Matter Presentation: We will have an in school "field trip" about matter on Wed. 2/2 about matter. The cost of the presentation will be covered with the money from last years canceled field trip (when your child was in 2nd grade).
