Week of November 30

Parents, I'm looking forward to meeting with you this week! It is my goal not to exceed our allotted time to ensure all appointments run according to schedule, as I know your time is valuable.

Please remember there is no school on Friday, December 4. (I cannot believe December is here already!)

The upcoming week has a lot in store:

Math
Our work with decimals continues this week as we round, add, subtract and estimate. Chapter 6 is short, with our test scheduled for Tuesday, December 8.
Language Arts
Our lesson in spelling focuses on the suffix -ous. The final test is on Thursday, December 3.
In English and reading, we will be focusing on improving our writing skills through practicing our extended responses on Jacob's Rescue and Hana's Suitcase, two novels we've been reading about the Holocaust.
Reading logs are due on Monday!
Science
After we share our storyboards on Monday, our focus will be on symbiosis. A quiz on lesson one is scheduled for Thursday, December 3.
Social Studies
Ben Franklin will be our focus this week. Students will be illustrating one of his proverbs from the Poor Richard's Almanac and making a timeline of his life. The timeline will be due on Monday, December 7.
Enjoy your week!
