Week of September 22

Another full week down....

Important Dates for the week:
Picture Day - September 25

My students enjoy the opportunity to purchase healthy snacks with their 5th grade dollars. If you happen to have an extra box of granola bars or fruit snacks in the cabinet that you would like to send in, they would be much appreciated!!

Here's the week in a nutshell:

Homeroom
In Social Studies, we will be continuing with Jamestown and comparing the new European colonies. The Chapter 5 test is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, October 7.
In Science, after we quiz on the Scientific Method early this week, we are going to switch gears and cover the much anticipated election.
Math
Now that we have started multiplying, I cannot stress how important it is to know those math facts! We will be multiplying by multi-digit numbers and a quiz is scheduled for Tuesday.
Language Arts Group
The Spelling pretest on lesson 4, prefixes and base words, the posttest is on Friday. Homework for the lesson is due on Thursday.
We are wrapping up Unit 1 in English. The test is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24.
I'm very excited to start our summarizing unit because we will begin a novel study on Jacob's Rescue this week.
Have a wonderful week!
