Week of May 25, 2015

During the upcoming holiday weekend, I will be thinking of all those who have gone before me protecting our freedom.  Thank you to all who have served and those who currently serve in the military.

A sneak peak at our upcoming week:

MY MATH CLASS
We wrapped up our mass and capacity unit this week so next week we will begin data.  There aren't many days to complete fact tests.  How is your child doing?  I found this website full of fun games to practice facts, as well as, all other math concepts:  http://math4children.com/Grade4/worksheets/

MY WIN CLASS
We finished our first round of reader's theater based on Greek Mythology.  Students loved it so much, we are going to work on another reader's theater in the upcoming week.

MY HOMEROOM CLASS
On Wednesday, there is a chapter 10 Space test in science.

We just began the "making choices" unit in social studies and it ties very well to everything Mr. Blocker discussed with our class in Junior Achievement.  We will take various open book reviews on the chapter before the final test scheduled for the week of June 1.

In reading, we are focusing our attention on biographies.  A fun project is to follow :)

Students are allowed to bring snack next week on a trial basis.  If we aren't able to respect the classroom by cleaning up after ourselves, the privilege of eating snack in the room will be taken away until the end of the year.  I'm confident students are going to work really hard at keeping our space clean because it was pretty tough without snack this week!

Have a wonderful, long weekend!
