Thursday 10/31 Halloween - Parade begins at 1:15, parties begin at 1:30
Please send your child's costume to school; we will change into them around 1:00. No fake weapons are allowed. The parties will allow one sweet treat and one healthy treat.
Here is our upcoming week:
MATH
Students are going to take a Check Your Progress on lessons 1-3 in chapter 4 on Tuesday. For homework on Wednesday, they are going to watch a video on combinations. We will practice real world estimating on Halloween. If you happen to have pumpkins at home you aren't going to use, we could certainly use them! I plan to purchase 5-6 pumpkins on Wednesday, so let me know! We will most likely take the chapter 4 test on Wed., 11/14.
READING
Word-of-the-week test scheduled for Friday. Our focus skills/strategies this week are inferring and cause/effect.
ENGLISH
We will be writing our descriptive haunted house stories.
SPELLING
Much of our work will be done in class. The words this week are Halloween words in which we will be putting in ABC order, changing singular nouns to plural and writing a story.
SCIENCE
Chapter 9 weather test is Tuesday, 11/5
SOCIAL STUDIES
Modern day Downers Grove test is Tuesday, 10/29.
