On Wednesday, 9/11, we are wearing red, white and blue to show our patriotism.
Here is our upcoming week in a nutshell:
MATH
My math students will take a chapter 1 (place value) pretest on Monday. From there, we will practice each concept with the hope to wrap up the unit by Friday. Please keep an eye on your child's planner for final test dates.
READING
Our class has been listening to reading, reading to someone, and reading to self to create a project based on a good fit book on animals. We will continue doing this and practicing all the reading strategies needed to become a great reader.
ENGLISH
We will begin chapter one on punctuation in our English books while we work on our "All About Me" bags. Instructions for this project will be sent home and much of it will be completed in school. This project allows wonderful practice for using proper punctuation and paragraphs.
SPELLING
Monday: List 2 pretest Homework: Cursive Worksheet
Tuesday: Homework: ABC Order in spelling journal
Wednesday: Homework: 10 sentences using all 20 words in spelling journal
Thursday: Homework: make sure you are ready for final test
Friday: List 2 final test
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will continue working with directions. The quiz on directions will be on Thursday, 9/12. A study guide will be sent home.
SCIENCE
Our unit on Where Animals Live will begin this week.
Have a wonderful week!
