Open House/Book Fair: Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Our class will begin Junior Achievement on Wednesday this week.
MATH
This week students will be working on adding and subtracting fractions!
Students will take a Check Your Progress covering Chapter 9 Lessons 1 - 5 on Friday, April 19.
A timed divided by 10's test will also be given on Friday, April 19.
ENGLISH
This week we will begin our unit on writing letters.
Students will learn how to address an envelope, write a greeting, and other important letter writing skills.
SCIENCE
This week students will continue to learn about the eight planets.
We will also be learning about the stars!
Students will review for a quiz on lesson three.
A quiz covering lesson three will be given on Monday, April 22.
Just a heads up, the Chapter 10 Test will most likely be on Friday, April 26.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will begin our final section of our Chicago Unit.
In this unit, students will learn about the jazz age, political changes, multicultural factors, and the skyscrapers!
Students will be given a study guide later in the week for the final Chicago test.
The final Chicago test will most likely be on Wednesday, April 24.
SPELLING
Students will work with list 23 this week.
Homework is as follows:
Monday - cursive
Tuesday - ABC order (non-challenge) or Activity 1 (challenge)
Wednesday - Sentences (non-challenge) or Activity 2 (challenge)
List 23 test will be given on Friday, April 19
READING
We will continue to work in small groups to develop our reading strategies.
Monday, April 15: students need to bring their favorite book to school!!
