There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 21 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Thursday is a Monday schedule this week.
MATH
We have begun chapter 6 on measurement. There will be a CYP on lessons 1-5 the week of January 28. Students received a packet of division facts. We are currently focusing on 2's and will be tested on these facts on Friday, 1/25.
READING
With Black History Month around the corner, our students will be selecting an African American to research. They will then collect information and create a photo album based on that person's life. A rubric and explanation will be sent home with your child on Tuesday. All projects will be due on Monday, January 28.
ENGLISH
We will continue revising and editing our autobiographies, but we will also focus on adjectives and adverbs this week.

Our classroom spelling bee is on Thursday. Then those two winners from our class will compete against two winners from each of the other third grade classes on Monday, January 28.
SCIENCE
We will begin our study of heat, light and sound.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We did not have a chance to begin chapter three this past week on cultures so we will be doing that this upcoming week.
