Hi parents! Some students are leaving their Valentine's blank in the "To:" section and simply filling in the "From:". This might save you some time :) Our party is on Tuesday, February 14 at 1:30.
The hundredth day of school is on Wednesday, Feb. 8!
Here is our upcoming week in a nutshell:
MATH
Is your child ready to take any of the math fact tests? Please have them tell me when they are ready. This upcoming week will include identifying plane figures, and exploring triangles, quadrilaterals and circles. These concepts are from chapter 14 and will be tested on Thursday, Feb. 9.
READING
Our African American Snapshots projects are due on Tuesday, February 7. This project focused on main ideas (4 main events in an African American's life) and details (descriptions of these events). As we begin to prepare for ISAT tests, we will spend the upcoming weeks reviewing all of the reading strategies we have been working so hard on all year. We will also practice writing extended responses to the literature we will be reading together.
SPELLING
We will test on lesson 16 this week. Workbook 30 and 31 in volume 2 -OR- 2 challenge activities, along with the cursive worksheet is due on Friday when we have our final test.
ENGLISH
We are returning to our autobiographies this week to type and edit them. Our class is going to insure they are PERFECT for Open House in April. We will also be starting our adjective unit with a pretest on Tuesday.
Our DOL focus is on month abbreviations and commas in a series. The quiz is on Friday, Feb. 17.
SCIENCE
The chapter 9 test on weather is on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Then we will focus on Social Studies.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We did not have an opportunity to begin our Chicago Unit and will do so this upcoming week.
Have a wonderful week!
