Week of April 5

I hope everyone has enjoyed their Spring Break! The weather certainly cooperated!

I am looking for two volunteers to help out in the classroom with our Geo Space program. The program is Monday afternoon, April 12th. The time would be 12:15 - 2:15. If you are interested please let me know.

MATH
We will begin chapter 22, Measurement. The students will learn how to estimate and measure length using appropriate customary and metric units. We will also focus on converting linear units of measurement. During this chapter we will also continue to review from chapter 14, adding and subtracting fractions.

LANGUAGE ARTS
This week we will focus primarily on summarizing, and touch on the other reading strategies while complete our study of the country of China. We will learn from each other as the students share their China brochures with the class. Later in the week, we will begin book clubs using novels the students select. Their selection approvals are due on Wednesday.

SCIENCE
We will be continuing our study of matter this week.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Students are going to take the Preamble Challenge this week and focusing on the important topics of chapter 10 lesson 3.
