For the week of October 15:

There are a lot of discussions about Halloween costumes going around Prairieview! I can't wait to see the outcome!

This is what to expect this week:

We have an early dismissal on Wednesday, October 17.
Math classes will be meeting from 9:50 until 10:40 that day. My Math Group will be continuing our study of coordinate graphing and line graphs. A quiz on Chapter 3 lessons 1-6 will be on Friday, October 19. Please make sure that your children are continuing to practice thier multiplication facts.

We will be wrapping up our study of India this week in Reading. Students will be putting a mini-book together about India and will be given a rubric to follow. In addition to drawing pictures, I am also encouring my students to research pictures online of the topics they are discussing to print out and add to their books. On Wednesday, we will be beginning a novel study of Bridge To Terabithia - one of my favorite books. We will be focusing on working in "Book Clubs" and all of the responsibilites that come with such a fun style of studying books.

In Social Studies we just wrapped up Chapter 5 and learning each of the 13 colonies. Now, in Chapter 6, we will be discussing life in the English Colonies. Lesson 1 focuses on working and trading. Students will be making a sign to represent their assigned colonial job this week.

In Science, we are continuing our study of the human body focusing on respiration and teeth this week. I am looking forward to two fun experiments.

Have a great week!
