Week of May 27, 2013

We have a short but fun-filled, busy week ahead of us.

First, in regards to the picnic on Monday, 6/3, please make sure your child brings gym shoes so they are able to participate in the activities.  We cannot allow students in flip-flops to participate.

This week we will be watching the talent show on Wednesday, visiting Mrs. Bell's fourth grade classroom on Thursday and going bowling from 9-11 on Friday.  Please have your child bring a sack lunch on Friday.  The concession stand at the bowling alley will be open if you choose to send your child with money.  Please send in no more than $7.00.

On Wednesday after school, Project Challenge is hosting a walk-a-thon from 3:30 - 5:00.  We hope to see you there!

Here is our upcoming week in a nutshell:

No school on Monday, 5/27 in observance of Memorial Day.

MATH
Please have students bring their hard cover math books in on Tuesday.  We don't have a lot of time together this week, but we will be completing our end of the year assessment and doing some Supermarket Math.

READING
There will be a context clue quiz on Wednesday, 5/29.

ENGLISH
We will be writing questions we have about fourth grade to ask when we visit.  We will also continue to practice punctuation, capitalization and grammar.

SPELLING
No assignments

SOCIAL STUDIES
Egypt has come to a close so we will be discussing some local government concepts throughout the week.

SCIENCE
Our "getting ready for science" unit has also come to a close so we will be using all of that knowledge on some science experiments this week.

Have a wonderful weekend!
