A few odds 'n ends:
Students attending the roller skating party on Monday, March 14th will need to report to school at 3:45 p.m. to check-in and have their stamped before boarding the buses. Students should bring their fast pass with them at check-in which will go home with them on Monday. Please remember not to park in the bus lanes when dropping your student off and for pick up.

Here is our upcoming week in a nutshell:
MATH
Students have these dates written in their planner and I don't foresee any date changes at this time for the upcoming multiplication tests:
Friday 3/18 x10
Friday 3/25 x11
Friday 4/8 x12
Friday 4/15 mixed review
Then we move on to division...I will be giving practice sheets to students who have accomplished all of their multiplication facts.
This week, we will continue working with decimals.
READING
We will continue working on all of our reading strategies, especially identifying main ideas and details, sequencing events, and making connections as we use various reading materials (novels, basal short stories, and leveled readers). I have asked students to bring in their favorite recipe on Monday so we can type those up and compile a classroom recipe book.
SPELLING
We will pretest on Lesson #18 on Monday and have our final test / homework due on Friday.
ENGLISH
Our goal is to finish up our simile project this week and continue working on adjectives. We are still collecting "junk" if you have any items you don't need returned.
SCIENCE
Students will be testing on Chapter 4 on Monday. I decided to postpone the test and allow students to use their books because of how disjointed our schedule was due to the ISATs.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will be doubling up! Our study of Egypt will continue as we begin our exploration of Chicago. There are a lot of interesting facts I've learned about our great city!
Have a wonderful week!
