Here is the upcoming week in a nutshell:
MATH
We will continue practicing and reviewing multi-digit multiplication to prepare for our Chapter 2 Test scheduled for Thursday, October 1. Don't forget to continue practicing those math facts at home! The deadline for passing all the number is on Wednesday!
Language Arts
Our class will be finishing up The Wish Giver this week and I will model how to correctly complete a Story Web. Each student will be responsible for completing one Story Web this trimester on a book of their choice. We are going to continue using context clues and affixes to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words. We will also begin Chapter 2 in English which is on parts of speech.
Social Studies
We are beginning Chapter 5 on the struggle to found colonies. We'll be discussing the Battle of the Spanish Armada and Jamestown. The students will also be completing a scroll book on the Lost Colony of Roanoke. This is what we will need brown paper shopping bags for.
Science
Our test on "Getting Ready for Science" is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30.
