Week of September 14




Here is the upcoming week in a nutshell:

Math
Hopefully students are practicing their math facts nightly. All facts must be passed by September 30. On Wednesday, September 16, chapter 1 test is scheduled. Then, we will start getting into multiplication in chapter 2.
Language Arts
Our class will continue with predicting as we begin summarizing this week. Much of our practice will come from the novel we are reading, The Wish Giver.
In English, students need to bring a picture in by Wednesday for an activity we will use to review for our chapter 1 test scheduled for Tuesday, September 22.
We will cover Spelling lesson 3 on the suffix -er/singular possessives. Pretest is on Monday, posttest is on Thursday.
Social Studies
We'll be discovering more about the Aztecs this week and how the Spanish Founded New Spain.
Science
We will be discussing classifiying and the inquiry skills scientists use.
