Monday 5/18 - Students go to Lakeview in the afternoon for information regarding next year.
That evening, parents are invited to attend Lakeview's Open House starting at 6:30.
Thursday 5/21 is an all school concert at 1:15.
On Friday, 5/22 Ginger Zee from NBC channel 5 is coming to talk to fifth grade! A note went home asking students to view one of Ginger's reports this weekend during the morning or evening news casts. We are really excited to have her!
There is no school on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.
Tuesday, we are going to attend a presentation by Indian Prairie Library.
Wednesday, May 27 - Robert Crown
Thursday, May 28, 5th Grade Celebration from 12:45 - 2:15.
On Friday, May 29, Bowling
Although the days are winding down, we still have work to do. Summer break begins on June 5 and I intend to work until then.
Here is the upcoming week in a nutshell:
Homeroom
In Science, students are going to finish their "This Place is a Zoo" projects and turn them in on Wednesday, May 20. Then we will begin our unit on owl pellets and get a chance to dissect them!
In Social Studies, students have a test on Chapter 11 on Thursday, May 21.
Math
Students will be assessed on decimal multiplication and division this week. Then, we will begin multiplying fractions and mixed numbers.
Language Arts
We will begin our final book club on Monday, May 18, which will take us to the end of the year in reading.
In English, we will be testing on adverbs and prepositions on Friday, 5/22.
In Spelling, our last test will be on Friday, 5/22 on lesson 30.
