Week of February 2

This week will be a very busy week:
On Tuesday, we have the 5th grade Spelling Bee.
On Wednesday, 5th grade is going to Naper Settlement. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate.
On Thursday, there is an all-school assembly.
On Friday, my class has Too Good for Drugs with Officer K.

Nonetheless, we have a lot to accomplish! Here is the week in a nutshell:

My Homeroom
In Social Studies, we will be discussing the various battles of the Revolutionary War, reviewing and then testing on Chapter 8 on Tuesday, February 10. While we are doing so, we will continue adding to our Revolutionary Journal.
In Science, we will continue with sound until Thursday, February 12, when there is a test scheduled on Chapter 17.
Math
Chapter 12 continues with comparing and ordering fractions, relating fractions to decimals and a review before we take our test on Friday, February 6. Students should continue to practice their math facts regularly.
Language Arts
Vocabulary tests begin on Monday, February 2. All students should have their cards finished so they can review them over the weekend. We will be completing The Wish Giver this week after discussing the main and minor characters and their traits. We will also be continuing to practice expository writing and extended responses.
In Spelling, we will test on Lesson 18 this week.
Have a great week!
