Week of November 10

It appears as though fall is creeping its way upon us. Even as I write this, the sky is growing darker and temperatures are dropping. Please remind students to bring their jackets or sweaters to school, as we often have P.E. or recess outdoors.

Here's the upcoming week in a nutshell:

Remember - no school on Tuesday in observance of Veteran's Day.

Friday is the last day to donate your gently used books to Book Worm Angels.

Homeroom

In Social Studies, our class will be testing on Chapter 6 on Wednesday, November 12. Then, we will begin looking at how New Spain began establishing colonies in Florida and New Mexico.

In Science, we will continue with physical properties, density and mixtures vs. solutions. We will test out of Chapter 14 before Thanksgiving Break.

Math

Our class will be writing and solving equations for word problems, representing a function (a relationship between two quantities in which one quantity depends upon the other) with a table and an equation, and finding whole-number solutions of inequalities. We'll be busy!

Language Arts

The lesson 11 Spelling test is on Friday, November 14.

In English, we will be practicing singular possessive nouns and reviewing proper and plural nouns.

In Reading we will continue with inferring, as well as, practicing extended responses. Don't worry - it will be fun!

Have a great week!
