Friday, March 7, 2008 is the Too Good For Drugs Graduation. The ceremony starts at 1:00 p.m. and all are invited to attend.
Did your child bring home the Family Reading Night fliar? This is an excellent opportunity for your and your child to enjoy a book together and then come together with other families who enjoy reading.
This week, we are really going to be taking a very close look at our writing and further practice our expository writing skills. In addition, we will be reviewing many concepts related to reading and writing effectively, such as poetry terms, text structures, and theme.
Our Lesson 22 Spelling test will be on Friday. Our spelling scores were excellent last week. I'm happy to see that students are spending more time studying and reviewing their spelling words/rules!

In Social Studies we will be discussing the formation of our new government after the American win over the British in the Revolutionary War. This is covered in chapter 10 lesson 1.
My Math group will be tested on Chapter 11 on Thursday, March 6. This chapter covers area; volume; perimeter; metric units of mass, capacity and length; customary units of weight, capacity and length; and units of time. Needless, to say, a lot is covered in this chapter. I sent a study guide home with my students on Friday. It is crucial that they spend time reveiwing each night in order to be well prepared for this test.
