Reading: We are going to continue preparing for ISAT tests. January book reports are due on January 31.
Spelling: This week is a review week, meaning we will test on a few words from each previous lesson.
English: In addition to starting the pronoun unit, we will be focusing on our writing skills in preparation for the writing portion of the ISAT test.
Social Studies: We will be focusing on the independence declared by the American colonies from Britain in July of 1776, as well as, the contributions of a wide variety of people who helped the Continental Army win important battles of the American Revolution. Students will be independently taking notes on the information they read in Chapter 9.
Science: Last week, students demonstrated that air exerts pressure. This week, they will read a barometer and relate barometric changes to changes in the weather. Before we demonstrate that air expands when heated and contracts when cooled, we will take a quiz on the information we learned through the first four activities participated in.
My math group: We will be finishing up chapter 7 on Monday, when we explore solid figures. After a review on Tuesday, our class will be taking the chapter 7 test on Wednesday. Geometry projects are due on Friday, February 1.
Stay warm and well!
