to a GREAT start! Last week, our class participated in many T.E.A.M. building activities, a fun Science experiment involving predicting and getting-to-know-you activities. This is a very special group of students and I am looking forward to working with them.
This week, we will begin a novel study on The Kid in the Red Jacket. In Social Studies, we are discussing "main idea" and using this tool to read about Christopher Columbus and his discovery of America. Science is sure to be a lot of fun - ask your child about the Sewer Maggots! We are also going to begin the digestive system. We started Spelling today and your child has the list of words to know for Friday's test.
Please continue practicing Math Facts with your child - the more they know their multiplication and division facts, the easier math is!
Please note: Tuesdays are packed with Specials and it is difficult to squeeze (a healthy) snack in. Please make sure your child eats an extra hearty breakfast on Tuesdays.
Reminder: Curriculum Night is Thursday, September 6 at 7:00. The schedule is as follows:
7:00 Multi-purpose Room with Mrs. Schultz
7:15 - 7:45 My homeroom parents and I will meet in our room (Room 209).
7:45 - 8:00 Parents of my Math Students can meet in our room.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you!
